Gold-to-silver ratio

How many ounces of silver equal one ounce of gold at today's spot. Some buyers use it to decide which metal to add.
What spot price means
The spot price is a reference price for large wholesale quantities of unfabricated silver. It is not the price of a physical coin or bar.
Why you pay more than spot
Physical products carry a premium covering minting or refining, distribution, and dealer costs. Our retail prices use fine troy ounces multiplied by the spot reference, plus a product premium for the selected quantity tier. Spot alone is not an offer to buy a coin or bar. Review the product price and checkout total before placing your order.
Units used for silver
Precious metals are priced in troy ounces. One troy ounce is 31.103 grams, about 10% heavier than a regular ounce. A kilo is 32.15 troy ounces, and a pennyweight is 1/20 of a troy ounce.
What moves the silver price
Spot prices move with global trading in futures and physical markets. Common influences include interest rates, the strength of the U.S. dollar, inflation, central bank buying, industrial demand (especially for silver), and investor demand during uncertain times.
