How to Buy Gold Bullion Online

Compare gold coins and bars, fine troy ounces, premiums, payment methods, and price locks before buying gold bullion online.

Choose gold coins or gold bars

Gold bullion is physical gold valued primarily for its fine-metal content. Government-issued coins and refined bars offer different sizes, designs, and premiums. Compare the actual product specifications rather than assuming every one-ounce coin has the same purity or gross weight.

Compare fine gold content

A troy ounce is approximately 31.1035 grams. A 22-karat coin may weigh more than one troy ounce while containing one troy ounce of fine gold. A .9999 fine gold product is 99.99% gold. Fine content, not gross weight alone, is the basis for comparing metal value.

Understand the premium above spot

The gold spot price is a market reference, not a finished coin or bar price. Retail bullion prices include a product premium. Compare prices at the quantity you intend to buy, and include any shipping charges and applicable taxes in your budget.

Review your price and payment

When live ordering is available, compare quantity-tier prices on the product page. Checkout provides a time-limited price lock; placing your order creates a binding purchase. Pay by wire, ACH, or check using the order instructions. Card payments are not currently available.

Plan for delivery and storage

Review delivery details and cancellation terms before ordering. Orders ship after payment clears. Decide how you will store and protect your physical gold; bullion prices can fall as well as rise, and no return is guaranteed.
